Massachusetts Early Intervention is Open!

Governor Charlie Baker and Lauren Baker, First Lady of Massachusetts, visited The Professional Center for Child Development to meet with students, parents and staff, and read to the children.

 

The Professional Center for Child Development hosted a Legislative Coffee which, provided an opportunity for parents, Early Intervention partners and advocates to talk with area Legislators about the impact Early Intervention Services have on the lives of young children and their families.

Federal Advocacy/National News

The Federal Advocacy Sub-Committee of the ICC (Inter-agency Coordinating Council) has been established to assist the Early Intervention Community in a greater understanding of Federal Issues, and to develop effective strategies for Federal Advocacy.  This committee does not currently meet regularly.

Resources for exploration of federal special education issues and IDEA

Bridges 4 Kids is a non-profit parent organization providing an internet-based system of information and referral for parents and professionals working with children from birth through transition to adult life.

The National Education Association  (NEA), the nation’s largest professional employee organization, is committed to advancing the cause of public education. NEA’s 3 million members work at every level of education – from preschool to university graduate programs. NEA has affiliate organizations in every state and more than 14,000 communities across the United States.

The Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) is dedicated to improving results for infants, toddlers, children and youth with disabilities ages birth through 21 by providing leadership and financial support to assist states and local districts.

Wrights Law provides information about special education law, education law, and advocacy for children with disabilities.

Zero to Three works to ensure that babies and toddlers benefit from the early connections that are critical to their well-being and development.
