Massachusetts Celebrates 50 Years of IDEA at the State House

On June 3, 2026, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) and the Massachusetts Early Intervention Consortium (MEIC) gathered at the Massachusetts State House to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

The event brought together children and families, MEIC Champions, legislators, Early Intervention providers, and community members to recognize five decades of progress in supporting children with disabilities and their families. Attendees celebrated the impact of IDEA and the important role Early Intervention services play in helping children reach their full potential.

The celebration highlighted the ongoing commitment of families, providers, advocates, and policymakers to ensuring that all children have access to the supports and opportunities they need to thrive.
